Dear Camp Parents and Guardians,
Hello, my name is Amanda Brown and I am the Executive Youth Director here at the Newtown Athletic Club. Summer 2017 will be my eleventh summer working at Camp NAC and I couldn’t be more excited. I joined the team here when I was just 14, starting out as a gymnastics instructor. My role at the club quickly expanded as I took on more responsibilities as a lead party host and camp counselor. After taking on the role as camp and youth programs manager, I understand camp inside and out, and love finding new ways to improve our camper experience every summer. My goal is to provide each and every camper with an unforgettable experience and to live up to our motto of “Making Summer Better!” I am extremely excited for this upcoming summer at Camp NAC! As always, we have added in some new and exciting specialty camps. Also, be sure to check out our additional options page! If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding camp, I am always available. We cannot wait to welcome our campers, both new and old, as we prepare for Camp NAC 2017!
See you all soon,
Executive Youth Director
Amanda Brown began her time at the NAC coaching gymnastics. Even early on, her persistent drive created the opportunity for her to move her skill set into the birthday party department. Here, Amanda started as a host but was quickly given leadership opportunities that included over-seeing gymnastics programs and becoming a head party host. Amanda became strongly involved in the summer camp department and three years later was running camp programs, overseeing budgets, hiring individuals, as well as other responsibilities. Her desire to ensure an amazing experience for every NAC member quickly led to her promotion as Assistant Camp Director. Through her dedication and diligence, Amanda has always been an asset to the team with her innovative ideas for the program and her ability to learn quickly.
This commitment to the NAC facility, specifically Camp NAC, has only solidified her willingness to help others and her love for children. Amanda makes it her duty to create quality relationships with all of the campers that come through the program. Her friendly personality, along with her degree earned in Early Childhood Education, has given her the tools to build friendships with every child that she interacts with.
The Camp NAC program is in great hands with Amanda.
