We’re here to help in any way that we can. We understand there is much concern around the plans for school this fall. Parents have reached out expressing their concern for child care should schools have an on-line component or, in some cases, entirely virtual learning.
We will provide on-site educational offerings with daycare and after school options that supplement what the schools will offer. We will support the virtual learning process at our facility with in-person enrichment coaches that will help implement virtual learning.
While this is a fluid situation, the Camp NAC & NAC teams have already started planning. As states and school districts release their plans, we will create programs to match the school’s educational model that will provide support for students of all grade levels (ages 3-18). Students will be grouped with students in their grade and district.
While our Supplemental School Enrichment programs are held, we will continue to follow the suggested health & safety guidelines of our local government.
To do so, we will enforce the following:
– All students will spend their day in small groups
– Work spaces, daily activities and after school programs will take place throughout our 250,00 sq. ft. facility and 26-acre campus to ensure maximum safety & a continuous practice of physical distancing.
– We have aligned our standards with guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local government. They have been reviewed by our wellness partner, Capital Health and the U.S. Surgeon General.
Please Note: The Newtown Athletic Club is not an educational provider as a public school or a private school. As a result, the NAC will not be able to implement IEPs or 504 plans. We will accept children with an IEP and/or a 504 plan into the program provided that the parent either pays for or supplies anything that their child may need to implement the IEP and/or 504 plan for their child’s special needs. We encourage anyone and everyone to participate in our programs providing daycare and after school options for children during these difficult times.
