Camp Catch Up: Week 1

Our team was so excited to kick off the summer this past week with our first week of camp! We welcomed about 30 campers for a full week of fun! Some highlights from this week included two surprise birthday parties, . See what other awesome activities Week 1 had to offer:
Half Day Specialty
The half day specialty camps offered this week were Whales Tales and Lil Gymnastics.
Campers enrolled in Whales Tales spent their week splashing around in the water. This instructional swim camp was led by the awesome NAC Aquatics department. Campers were able to work on their swimming skills to get stronger and more comfortable in the water.
Our Lil Gymnastics campers had an awesome week learning the basics of gymnastics. Campers had a circus-themed week, and at the end of the week showed off their skills in a special performance. From beam to floor these little gymnasts definitely had a ball.
NACster
Our NACster campers enjoy a different theme each day of the week to participate in a variety of activities.
On Monday, our campers faced off against the counselors in fun sports games and more for Kids vs. Counselors day.
Tuesday campers searched Camp NAC high and low for hidden treasure.
Campers put their engineering skills to the test on Wednesday for bridge building competitions. Campers built amazing bridges from materials like straws, popsicle sticks and tape.
On Thursday, campers got a tasty surprise of ice cream sundaes! What a fun way to celebrate our first campers of the summer!
Friday campers were all in to win during Game Show day activities. They played games like Jeopardy, BINGO, and Minute to Win It!

NAC STARS
Our NAC STARS for Week 1 were Aiden and Taylor from Camp NACster!
Our boy Boy NACSTAR is Aiden. Aiden is in Camp NACster and is a very good listener. He always is checking to see that everyone does not feel left out. Aiden loves playing in the pool with the counselors!
Our girl NACSTAR is Taylor! Taylor is in Camp NACster and is very friendly. She is always sure to use her best manners and offer her assistance to the counselors! Taylor loves swimming every day and had a blast going down the water slide!
This week’s Counselor of the Week was Mr. Kieran. Kieran never has to be told what to do because he will have already done it correctly. He has been very helpful to our new staff helping them with any questions or concerns they have had. Kieran is a senior at Temple University, where he is studying kinesiology and going Pre-Med. Kieran can always be trusted to do what is expected of him and help others with whatever they need.
