The Importance of STEM In Our Camps

Happy National STEM Day!

STEM, also known as science, technology, engineering and math, is a well known acronym being included into school curriculum’s nationwide. STEM is essentially apart of everyday life and is important to incorporate into a child’s life starting at a young age. Implementing the STEM techniques learned in school, can teach children how they benefit our society and world as a whole.

Here at Camp NAC, we wanted to incorporate STEM into the typical day. With a variety of new camp themes to choose from each week, all ages will benefit from our focus towards educational based programs. Children will be able to learn and grow in a safe, structured environment that combines both learning and play.

For our 3-5 year old campers, our educational based camp themes make for an environment that contributes to the development of their fine and gross motor skills. Our 3-5 year old specialty camps will focus on many interactive read alouds and dramatic play options based on the chosen camp theme.

For our older campers, we have new STEM based camps for ages 6-12. From using critical thinking skills to engage in challenges each week, conducting science experiments, team building and exploration activities, campers will put their knowledge to the test.

We cannot WAIT for Camp NAC 2018 where we strive to make summers better.
