There are so many benefits to art. Art provides creative outlets or opportunity for expression, and stimulates ways for children to feel good. Research also supports, that arts have positive effects on children’s mental health.
This year we are hosting a 6-week drop-in style kids art program that will focus on unleashing kids’ creativity while also giving them helpful tips and tricks to maintaining positivity and mindfulness tools. These art classes will offer not only innovative crafts but will teach them how to foster a healthy mindset that they can carry throughout their whole lives.
Below are the weekly themes for our art classes along with some of the art the kids will be creating:
Building Positive Mindsets – – Vision Boards, Yoga & Meditation
Mandalas & the Cosmos – – Rock Activity & Floral Mandalas
Get in Touch With Nature – – Meditation, Art Project & Mural
Movement of the Body – – Dance Project & Yoga
Music Medication – – Radical Weaving on Records
Feeling/Dream Sketchbooks – – Dream Big & Bookmark Activity & Yoga
Art Classes Details:
The drop-in style art classes will ran by Miss Kimmy, who has a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts.
Classes will be held every Saturday morning from 10:00am – 11:15 am, starting October 15th and ending on November 19th.
The classes are offered to kids who are 8 years and up. Each class is $15 for NAC Members or $20 for the General Public.
